Can't Help Myself

Okay so I got really close to a guy we'll call 'M'. We became really good friends and he would confide to me how he liked all of these girls and would somewhat force me into helping him achieve them. One girl he went to one of our school dances with and she completely avoided him (one of my closest friends) and of course I was always there to pick up the pieces. He forgot about her for a while and then started talking again.

These past few months have been a complete mess with him though. First of all he fell back "into love" with the same girl from the school dance. He would text her constantly and then she would tell me about how she didn't like him in that way. I tried to push them together for M but I honestly didn't want them to be together at all. And then one day I accidentally let it slip to the girl that I liked him, and her being my friend she decided she wasn't going to date him. Needless to say he was crushed and once again he turned to me for comfort.

Since then he has shown signs he likes me, and then went on to like two of my best friends. I know he's so incredibly bad for it but I think I really love him.

How can I let him go once and for all?
