I feel that you should start with the lowest dosage of pain medications when a problem occurs. Pain is subjective and would like to know your thoughs?

Not sure what you mean that pain is subjective. I know that when I am in pain, it feels like it hurts.

I MEAN THAT PAIN IS CONCEIVED BY PEOPLE IN DIFFERENT WAYS. WHAT MAY BE A 3/10 PAIN LEVEL TO ONE PERSON CAN BE A 8/10 PAIN LEVEL TO ANOTHER, WITH THE SAME DEGREE OF DISCOMFORT

Isn't that why they ask you on a scale of 1 to 10, how much pain are you in?
Sorry... its an old thread... I couldn't help myself though.

Pain is perceived in different degrees to each individual. What may be a 2-3 to me may be a 6-7 to another. Finding out what and where the pain is coming from I think should be the primary concern

Don't know why the above post was repeated...
You could look at it like this... Not all women need any kind of pain medication when they are in labor or giving birth. Do you think that they are not in pain? Or that thier tolerance threshold to the pain hasn't been crossed? Are these women not in the same pain the next woman was before her epidural?

I do believe that people have a higher tolerance for pain. the ones that donot need pain meds are the ones that use mind over matter in order to get the results you want. the best method for pain management if breathing through your pain and letting it subside.
