I currently have a counselor that I've gotten really comfortable talking to. I even admited to having suicidal thoughts, though I know that it is not the best option. (no need for suicidal lectures, not going to do it) but tonight when she called me to cancel (which is frequent) she was trying to talk me into coming another night.. after being frustrated by her canceling again, i was hesitant. Well needless to say, after the conversation ended she had told me that she had had a rough past 2 days and that she had been dealing w/ jacka**'s and didn't need me too..
So she implyed i was a jacka** too...
How should that boost my self esteem???
I'm scared.... She was the only one I thought could at least remotely understand me and now she called me names...?? |

Hello:
I emailed you back about this, but will respond to this post as well. Unfortunely you found out the hard way that counselors are human and can make mistakes. That does not mean that your mental health has to be jeopordized because your counselor did something stupid. You can make your own decisions and decide what is right for you to do.
We as humans all make mistakes, sounds like that counselor is burnt out and needs to take a break from counseling. Glad you found the site and the forum to discuss your therapy woes. |
