Petricia Krenitsky, LPC
Patricia obtained a BA in Psychology, Minor in Philosophy and Secondary
Education Certification during her undergraduate years. Patricia received a
Masters of Science in Community Counseling, National Board Certification, and
PA State licensure for Professional Counselor. Patricia was gainfully employed
for several years working with mentally and physically challenged individuals
with problems ranging from abuse to severe psychosis. She provided healing
therapy and support to 120 residents and family members for 14 years in a long
term care setting. Patricia served the Court as Guardian of Person for 8 years.
She also provided therapeutic intervention to hospitalized patients in a behavioral
health unit for a few years. Patricia has a private practice providing individual
counseling to her community.
Patricia believes that establishing trust and providing a safe setting to clients is
most important for therapy to be successful. Patricia works as a team member
with the client who decides what to work on. Patricia believes and was trained
that the role of the counselor is to teach others how to solve his or her problem
areas and learn to cope with situations that have no resolution.
Patricia is an eclectic counselor. Every individual is unique and problems are
unique. Some approaches work better than others depending on the individual
and the presenting problem. Cognitive Behavioral therapy is used to explore
thinking, feeling and behaviors. Patricia uses listening as the most important
tool. Sometimes we all just need someone to listen to our concerns.
